I’m not going to say much today, it’s already late into the night and I’m very sleepy. Let’s just say Kyoto has changed since I used to live there 16 years ago, for a whole year as a student. Changed… and not. It’s a strange feeling. And, of course, now I’m just a regular tourist, looking in…
The Ruokan is nice, less impressive than the first one but right in Gion. And cheaper too.
We ate an okonomiyaki (kansai specialty) in a (very nice) little hole in the wall.
After that, we walked to the Miyako Odori show (April festival in Gion in which the geiko and maiko showcase their talents to a wider public than usual).
Then walked around quite a bit and bought some omiyage, window shopping…
yes, there is such a thing as pastry in a can in Japan…
…before eating in a vegan, gluten free restaurant. A first for me in Japan !
And back.
Sorry, pics ain’t great. But hey, I’m back on tracks!
お休み😌🌃💤また明日!
